My High Blood Pressure scare in Thailand

"I had watched their YouTube videos and contacted them with a question about visa services. They were a great help in getting my Special Tourist Visa. Most likely I wouldn't have..."
- Jon H.

Today I went for my quarterly checkup at Samitivej Hospital in Bangkok.

As usual, there was only a few minutes wait, live piano music playing, super (and attractive) attentive nurses, and attention to every detail.

It's one of the more high end hospitals in Bangkok.

I only keep catastrophic health insurance here in Thailand, because even with this hospital, it is cheap enough that i can afford to pay for 98% of visits and procedures out of pocket.

So i've had higher than normal blood pressure for a few decades now.
Around 140/90.
Which is not too crazy, but i'm getting older and I wanted to keep it in check.

What did today's visit cost me?

  • Full panel blood test
  • EKG
  • Doctor's prognosis

TOTAL: 11,500 THB (About $350 USD).
In Miami, Florida - where i used to live - the cost would be about $1,000 - $3,000 USD, and even more  with insurance.
Here is the analysis with Grok.

So many other things cost less here too.

That's why it makes a lot of sense to live here in Thailand if you have chronic conditions.

Healthcare is so much better, private hospitals are a cut about everything you have in your country, and people really "take care" of you.

We can help you with our Medical Tourism Liason Service.

Our team at Thai Kru will consult with you, find the best hospitals and doctors for you, accompany you to the hospitals, and even arrange for a nurse to stay with you if you decide to come here for treatment.

To get more details about this, schedule a consultation call with us to get started.

Hit reply and let us now.

Have fun!

P.S. So what about my high blood pressure? I've started a lot of intermittent fasting, changed my diet to about 90% carnivore and as of today's test (March 6, 2025), my blood pressure is almost perfect. Every single indicator on my blood panel is within range, and i've stopped taking blood pressure medication.
