No, you cannot transition directly from a DTV to a Non-B (work) visa inside Thailand. You must leave the country and apply for the Non-Immigrant B visa at a Thai Embassy or Consulate outside Thailand.

• The DTV strictly prohibits working for a Thai employer and you cannot obtain a Thai work permit while on a DTV. All income must come from outside Thailand.
• To change to a business visa required for a work permit, you are typically required to leave Thailand and submit a new application from abroad.
• Non-Immigrant B Visa initially grants a 90-day stay. After entry you can extend it to 1 year at immigration in Thailand.
• Non-B applications require a personal bank statement and a supporting letter from the relevant authority or institution (for example, the school or company you have signed a contract with).
• You might need to visit the immigration office to void a multiple-entry DTV to a single entry before departure. At that point the DTV expires and you can apply for the new visa. You do not necessarily need to cancel the DTV.
• 90-day reports are required every 90 days of stay per entry. If you stay less than 90 days they are not required. Overdue reports cannot be filed online and must be done in person at immigration with your real address and TM30.
