Procedure for Obtaining a Thai Tourist e-Visa for Mexican Citizens

Mexican citizens apply for a Thai tourist e-visa exclusively online through the official portal thaievisa.go.th while they are outside Thailand.

The entire process is now digital. You no longer need to visit the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate in person to submit your passport and documents.

The Specifics

• All e-visa applications, including the tourist category, must be submitted through the official e-Visa system at thaievisa.go.th.
• You can only apply for an e-Visa if you are not currently in Thailand.
• Supporting documents that are not in English must be accompanied by certified English translations.
• If your Mexican name consists of two first names (primer nombre and segundo nombre) and two family names (primer apellido and segundo apellido), follow the exact name-entry format required by the portal.
• Once approved, you will receive a confirmation email containing the e-Visa as a PDF.
• The e-Visa PDF must be printed and presented both to the airline at check-in and to Thai immigration officers on arrival.

Expert Tips from Thai Kru Visa Agency

Prepare every document in advance and ensure the English translations are properly certified. Small errors in the online form, especially with compound Mexican names, are a common reason for delays. Double-check that you are submitting the tourist visa category and not another type.

Many Mexican applicants also want to understand which visa best matches their planned length of stay and future travel plans. Reading our guide what Thai visa options fit your nationality, location and desired stay can help you confirm the tourist e-visa is the right choice before you begin.

The exact government fee changes from time to time. Our article what is the fee for a Thai e-visa application gives the latest figures so you know what to budget.

Once your e-visa is approved and printed, keep a digital copy on your phone as backup. Mexican passports are generally well accepted, but immigration officers still examine the purpose of your visit. A clear itinerary and proof of onward travel help the process go smoothly at the airport.
