Can your income last in Thailand?

The average monthly pension from any one of these countries is not enough to retire in Thailand. (USD):

🇺🇸 USA: $2,071 (just barely)

🇦🇺 Australia: $1,572

🇬🇧 UK: $1,256

🇨🇦 Canada: $1,147

🇩🇪 Germany: $1,760

🇯🇵 Japan: $935

🇰🇷 Korea: $500

The required amount for a retirement visa in Thailand is minimum ~$2,000 USD per month. 

So what are some other options?

• Marry a Thai citizen - it required half the amount to qualify instead of a retirement visa. 
• Have a kid under 20 in Thailand - even if not married, same financial requirements as marriage visa.
• If you have $16,000 or equivalent USD in the bank you can get the 5 year DTV Visa. - you only need to show this once. 
• Remote work, remote consulting - second income source. 
• And of course, if you have $25,000 or equivalent USD in the bank you qualify for the retirement visa, regardless of income. But you have to basically keep this forever and renew every year to prove you still have the income.
