Who needs this service and why

You need this service if you are travelling to Canada from Thailand and your passport requires a Temporary Resident Visa. Thai nationals are in this group. Foreigners living in Thailand may need a TRV or may be eligible for an eTA, depending on their nationality, and we confirm which applies to you before anything else.

The thing to understand about the Canadian process is what the officer is actually weighing: your connections to home. This is not a wealth test. A middle income applicant with a long held job, a mortgage and school age children presents a very clear picture, and that picture is what the file needs to show.

Everything is decided on the documents, with no interview to add context afterwards. So our job is to go through your papers thoroughly, confirm what you already qualify with, tell you which additional documents would round out the picture, and then present all of it so the officer can follow it without guessing.

What the visitor visa gives you

You cannot work or study on a visitor visa beyond short courses. Your visa allows you to travel to a Canadian port of entry. The border services officer makes the final admission decision and sets your stay.

Who this is for

Requirements

1. Personal documents

2. Proof of funds

3. Proof of employment

If you are employed:

If you are self employed or own a business:

If you are a student:

4. Travel plan

5. Proof of ties to Thailand

This last section is the one applicants most often under-prepare and the one officers weigh most heavily, so it is where we concentrate.

How it works

First, we review your documents thoroughly. We check whether your nationality needs a TRV or an eTA, then go through everything you have against the visitor visa requirements: your employment, property, family and business commitments in Thailand, alongside your funds and travel plans. We confirm what you already satisfy and give you a clear list of anything else worth obtaining, with guidance on where to get it.

Second, we build and submit. We create your IRCC account, complete the online application, and prepare each document set so it answers a question rather than adding volume. Proof of funds is presented so the officer can see income arriving and accumulating over time. The travel plan matches the funds. The invitation letter, where there is one, states the relationship, the dates and who is paying. We then pay the CAD 100 fee and the CAD 85 biometrics fee where required, and book your appointment.

Third, we carry it to the decision. You attend the visa application centre in Bangkok for fingerprints and a photograph, which we prepare you for. We monitor the file and respond to any request from IRCC. When the visa is issued we check the validity, the number of entries and the conditions, and explain what to expect at the Canadian border, because the officer there sets your actual stay.

Process summary

  1. Create an IRCC account.
  2. Complete the online application and upload the supporting documents.
  3. Pay the application fee of CAD 100 and the biometrics fee of CAD 85 where required.
  4. Give biometrics, fingerprints and photograph, at the visa application centre.
  5. Wait for processing and the decision.

What proof of ties actually means

Officers are looking for evidence that your life is rooted somewhere, so they look for the commitments that come with a settled life.

One tie documented properly does more than five mentioned in passing. We identify which of yours are documentable and build the file around them.

FAQ

1. How long can I stay in Canada?

Up to 6 months per entry, but the border services officer decides your exact period on arrival and records it. Your visa gives you the right to travel to Canada and ask to enter, rather than an automatic entitlement to a fixed stay.

2. Will I get a multiple entry visa?

Most approved applicants do, often valid until shortly before the passport expires. It is issued at the officer's discretion rather than on request.

3. How much money do I need?

IRCC publishes no fixed minimum. Your funds need to cover the trip comfortably and sit consistently with the income you have declared. Where the money came from carries as much weight as how much there is, so we help you evidence that.

4. Do I need biometrics?

In most cases yes, at a cost of CAD 85. Once given, they remain valid for 10 years, so a later application within that period will not need them again.

5. Is there an interview?

Usually not. Decisions are made on your file. Occasionally an interview or additional documents are requested, and we handle that response for you.

6. My family in Canada will pay for my trip. Does that weaken my case?

No. Include the invitation letter, their status in Canada, proof of your relationship and their financial evidence, and it is entirely normal. Documented sponsorship is a strength.

7. Can I visit the USA on the same trip?

Only with a separate US visa. Canada and the USA have entirely separate systems, and neither visa admits you to the other country. If your trip covers both, we can run the applications in parallel.

8. What if I was refused before?

Request your GCMS notes, which set out the officer's actual reasoning, then we build the new file specifically around evidencing that point. We can guide you through obtaining and interpreting the notes.

9. How long does processing take?

It varies with the season and with volumes at the Bangkok office. Starting two to three months before your travel date gives room for a biometrics appointment and any additional request from IRCC.

10. Can I work in Canada on this visa?

No. If work is the goal, that is a different application and we will point you to the right category.

11. I am a foreigner living in Thailand. Can I apply from Bangkok?

Yes, with legal long stay status here. Your Thai visa, work or business, lease and local banking become the ties evidence, alongside anything you still hold in your home country.

12. What exactly am I paying you for?

A thorough review of your documents against the visitor visa requirements, a clear list of anything else worth obtaining, your ties documented rather than assumed, your funds presented so their source is visible, the IRCC application completed and lodged, biometrics booked, and any request answered on time. The decision is the officer's. Everything within your control, we handle.

Canada is a documentary process, and it responds well to a file that shows the officer a clear picture of your life here. Tell us about your work, your family and your commitments in Thailand, send us what you have, and we will go through all of it properly before we lodge.

I highly recommend Thai Kru for your Visa needs in Thailand. I dealt with Khun Tarn. He was very knowledgeable, professional and courteous. He went above and beyond to secure my DTV Visa. Thai Kru has professional staff who know exactly what is required to secure any type of Visa in the right manner. They also have a number of valuable services that are extremely helpful to Foreigners coming to Thailand. I would also like to thank Numfhon as well. Jeff/Canada

I can not say enough good things about Thai Kru Visa Agency. I selected them for my DTV and was approved in 9 business days. Their attention to detail and communication with me was beyond my expectations! This agency gets 10 stars from me! When I was asked for further documentation, they were on it immediately! The process for me was a breeze. I am not good at organizing things, especially on the computer. I sent them the requested documents and they did everything else! Do not hesitate to use them for your Thai visa needs! Thai Kru, THANK YOU! You are the best!
