Do you need a visa?
Not for a holiday. Chinese passport holders enter Thailand without a visa and stay up to 30 days under a bilateral agreement with Thailand.
That agreement is separate from Thailand's exemption scheme, and the 2026 changes to the scheme do not touch it.
You do need a visa if you want to stay longer than that, or if you are coming to work, study, retire or join family. Those routes are below.
