Do you need a visa?
Not for a holiday. Mongolian passport holders enter Thailand without a visa and stay up to 30 days under a bilateral agreement with Thailand.
That agreement is separate from Thailand's exemption scheme, and the 2026 changes to the scheme do not touch it.
You do need a visa if you want to stay longer than that, or if you are coming to work, study, retire or join family. Those routes are below.
Where your application is handled
There is no Thai embassy or consulate in Mongolia. Your application is handled by the Royal Thai Embassy, Beijing, which is accredited to Mongolia. You do not travel there. Everything is done online, and this is simply the office that reviews your file.

Longer stays
If 30 days is not enough, these are the routes Mongolian passport holders use most.
